That One That Got Away

Those eyes, those thoughts, those memories,
fading away, mosaic at first, dissipating in entirety the next.

My feelings hedged on capriciousness,
fighting an internal struggle, questioning my astuteness,

Perhaps subtlety will never work,
or it is just you who choose to remain in oblivion,

I thought we struck a cord,
till it all went awry,

You still can't forget him,
and I can't commit,

What is left is hope,
that in the future we will succeed.
